HMLC Students

 
GED

General Education Diploma (GED)

Prepares students ages 16 and up to obtain a General Education Diploma through passing 5 Core Subject tests. HMLC offers a safe, welcoming, and nurturing environment for students who attend 2-hour classes twice a week in Wailuku. Read more>

 
HSF

High School Foundations (HSF)

Offers a high-school curriculum for 14 and 15 year olds.  Classes are offered at a variety of schedules two days per week in Wailuku. Read more>

 
HEP

Home School Enrichment Program (HEP)

Provides a middle school curriculum Monday through Friday to students at 6th, 7th and 8th grade levels at the Hui Malama Youth Center located on Main Street in Wailuku. Read more>

 
ENGLISH LANGUAGE CLASSES

English Language Classes

Students of all skill levels work to gain a better understanding of the English language, both verbally and in writing, in order to improve work performance, achieve job advancement and/or pursue post-secondary education. Read more>

 
TUTORING

Private Tutoring

One-on-one individualized tutoring in subject of choice.  Days, times, and places are open to client's needs.  All subjects. Read more>

Supplemental Educational Services (SES) Tutoring

Homework help and remedial support for students enrolled in public school (ages 7-19) who have poor grades, are testing below grade level or are behind in their work due to school absences and/or suspension. Read more>

 
ADULT EDUCATION

Adult Education

Adult Literacy provides an opportunity for adult learners to build a foundation in reading and writing, focusing on phonemic awareness, comprehension, grammar, and sentence structure.

Adult GED courses help students age 16 and above prepare for the GED exam.

ESL courses offer students of all skill levels work to gain a better understanding of the English language, both verbally and in writing.
