GED

Hui Malama Learning Center's GED program prepares students ages 16 and up to take the General Educational Development (GED) Test. Hui Malama offers a safe, welcoming, and nurturing environment for students who attend classes four days per week in Wailuku. Students complete an Individualized Learning Plan and are supported by educational counselors to participate in a variety of enhancement activities intended to increase academic success, improve employability, and encourage positive community involvement.

Our High School program is offered to students who want to eventually go into the GED program. At this level the focus is on the core high school subjects of math, science, language arts and social studies. We assist students to become lifelong learners and critical thinkers by developing essential academic competencies and encouraging appropriate and responsible life choices. Students will learn how to access resources, problem-solve and develop lifeskills relevant to their community and personal goals. Students will have the opportunity to explore secondary educational, vocational, and employment possibilities.
